Bio
Dr. William Weathers has provided radiology services at Aspen Valley Health since 2024. He practices all specialties of radiology, with a particular focus on musculoskeletal radiology (orthopedic imaging) and breast imaging/interventions. Dr. Weathers is the practice president at Mountain Radiology, which is the radiology provider for Aspen Valley Health and its clinics. During his education, he studied medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and completed his residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston/MD Anderson Cancer Center Radiology Program. Following his core curriculum in residency, he completed a mini-fellowship in breast imaging at MD Anderson in Houston. He also completed a year-long fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging with a focus on sports injury and trauma at UT Houston/Hermann Hospital/Ironman Institute. Dr. Weathers’ interest in musculoskeletal radiology stems from his personal passion for sports. His work at the Ironman Institute allowed him to treat athletes from the Houston Texans and Houston Rockets, as well as the University of Houston athletics program. Originally, he planned to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather and great grandfather and become a surgeon but was drawn to radiology while attending medical school. As a practicing radiologist, he relishes his role in working closely with orthopedic surgeons and other top-tier specialists to positively impact patient outcomes. Dr. Weathers is proficient in Spanish. He loves living in the Roaring Fork Valley, is an avid fly fisherman and skier, and he enjoys sharing his passion for the outdoors with his wife and kids.
